4,000t Forging Press

A new customer has kindly provided the following information about a repair they carried out on their 4,000t forging press.  They said:

"We recently carried out a repair on our 4,000t forging press back shaft, which meant stripping out the large phosphor bronze bearings and introducing new oil to the lubrication system.

On re-assembly we noticed one of the bearings was getting excessively hot, putting out repair in jeopardy.  We of course couldn't continue to run and advice we were given was to apply TIMESAVER Lapping Compound to bed the bearing in and reduce the running temperature.

So we applied the Yellow TIMESAVER Lapping Compound and our machine is now up and running, producing parts for our grateful customers.

The 300mm diameter phosphor bronze bearing sits inside the larger blue fabrication.

The TIMESAVER Lapping Compound was invaluable in getting our press operational again and Joe at Link Motion Ltd. went above and beyond by helping us collect the TIMESAVER Lapping Compound out of his normal working hours."

We are very pleased to have assisted this customer and are grateful for the case study.  We wish them all the best for the future.
